ROB ZOMBIE Interviewed On FOX NEWS' 'Red Eye'; Video Available
October 12, 2010Rob Zombie was interviewed on last night's (Monday, October 11) edition of Fox News' "Red Eye" show with host Greg Gutfeld (which actually aired early this morning, October 12). You can now watch the segment below.
"Red Eye" is a late-night/early-morning talk show on the Fox News channel. Airing at 3:00 a.m. EST on weekdays with repeats on weekends at 12:00 a.m. EST, the show covers a variety of topics, including news, entertainment, sports, and gossip. It is hosted by former Maxim U.K. editor Greg Gutfeld.
Rob Zombie recently announced that his next movie as a director will be "The Lords Of Salem", about a 300-year-old coven of undead witches that terrorizes the modern-day residents of the town of Salem, Massachusetts. Zombie told The Pulse of Radio that he has some very specific ideas about the kind of horror movie he wants to make this time. "With a lot of the movies over the years that we thought were, you know, very scary — 'The Exorcist' or 'The Shining' — there was the time to let it play out. They just had a different pace, you know, it sucks people in. And that was one of the main things that I was thinking that I wanted this film to have, 'cause I think a lot of times now horror movies are getting so short and so choppy, you can't do that. And that's why I think a lot of people got so scared with 'Paranormal Activity', 'cause you fell into the rhythm of the movie, and then it started seeming real to you."
Zombie will write and direct "The Lords Of Salem" for the same producers that were behind last year's horror smash, "Paranormal Activity".
He is working on the script now and plans to begin production early next spring.
Zombie told Billboard that the idea for the movie came from his own youth in Massachusetts. "The Salem witch trials and all that was always very prevalent. Even when I was a little kid, you take a school field trip and go to Salem to the witch museums and watch re-enactments of the witch trials. I always found it fascinating."
Zombie is currently co-headlining the Halloween Hootenanny tour with ALICE COOPER and promoting the new special edition of his latest album, "Hellbilly Deluxe 2", which arrived last month.
